Dave Lyon is the Executive Director of Big Picture Research & Communications. Dave’s research centers on the economics and political economy of major economic regulations, with a special focus on regulations that maximize total benefits to society. His work also catalogs the social harm from the deregulation of these protections, and identifies the key political forces that move policy away from the social optimum. Dave’s publications focus on root cause analysis of pressing social issues, including working poverty, unaffordable housing, middle class wage stagnation, and high healthcare prices.
Prior to Big Picture RC, Dave led evaluation efforts in the affordable housing industry, consulted to Fortune 500 companies on organizational improvement, and dramatically improved re-engineering project success in the tech sector.
Dave holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from M.I.T.
