NEW GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT (6/6): Let's get to know our 6 new grantees this year!
The Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) was formed in 1997 to serve as a first-response agency to provide timely, compassionate, coordinated care for child and adult survivors of sexual violence. Because sexual violence has long-term and far-reaching effects on adults and children, SEMO-NASV offers advocacy, counseling and forensic care for all survivors of sexual violence in southeast Missouri. The Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence seeks to be an advocate for those affected by sexual trauma through the coordination of community services to provide professional, compassionate and timely interventions and education.
The #health project we support provides several programs for kids and adults to help recognize abuse, learn when to report and how, and much more through The Green Bear Project. These programs allow them to take new steps in stopping abuse before it has a chance to manifest.
NEW GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT (5/6): Let's get to know our 6 new grantees this year!
Rainforest Partnership is an international non-profit organization committed to protecting and regenerating tropical rainforests. They partner with local communities in Latin America to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and make it more valuable for them to keep their forests standing. Their model focuses on targeting specific communities facing substantial environmental threats and combines scientific analysis and economic development choices with local knowledge, culture and desires to find a sustainable economic outlet that will allow the preservation of both the communities and forests. By creating a global network—linking people to people, community to community—they act as a catalyst to create long-term economic and environmental sustainability.
The #environment project we support provides environmental education programming and youth empowerment initiatives in their partner community of Sani Isla. It provides opportunities for young people to learn, explore, and take leadership roles in their communities as a key strategy to ensuring long-term sustainability and conservation of the 50,000 acres of rainforest protected by Sani Isla.
NEW GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT (3/6): Let's get to know our 6 new grantees this year!
One Heart Worldwide was founded in 1998 as a maternal and neonatal healthcare (MNH) project in the Tibetan Autonomous Region through the University of Utah and opened a base of operations in Nepal in 2010. They have since scaled from two pilot districts to improving access to quality MNH care for over 1.5 million pregnant women and their infants in 32 Nepali districts. External evaluations have found that their work, in collaboration with the Nepali Government, has led to substantially accelerated progress towards helping Nepal achieve its SDGs for MMR and neonatal mortality rate (NMR).
The #health project we support addresses the training needs of maternal and neonatal healthcare (MNH) service providers. OHW developed, piloted, and implemented a simulation-based mentorship program (SBMP), the first of its kind in Nepal, to train Skilling Birthing Assistants (SBA’s) and other MNH providers on lifesaving techniques and skills.

#TFPThoughtfulThursday We all know December is a busy month, but it is extra busy for the nonprofit sector. Approximately 30% of all annual donations in the United States are made in the month of December with nearly 10% of those gifts coming in on the last three days of the year! If you need guidance deciding which nonprofits to include in your year-end giving, please check out our list of 2024 grantees and join us in supporting their important work: www.tombergphilanthropies.org/causes-category/2024/
#TFPThoughtfulThursday Last week we celebrated International Volunteer Day, but did you know that the entire month of December sees a dramatic increase in volunteerism rates? Experts credit the 35% higher rates to holiday-related charitable activities. Are you volunteering anywhere special this holiday season?
December 5th is International Volunteer Day dedicated to recognizing and promoting the significant impact of volunteers worldwide in addressing global issues. Today, we'd like to thank our volunteer colleagues and our Advisory Board for their crucial role in supporting and guiding our foundation's activities. Our volunteers provide expert counsel and valuable insight to ensure our foundation is an effective grant-making partner to the incredible work of nonprofits all over the world. Be sure to thank a volunteer today! #internatinoalvolunteerday
We are honored to be able to help support Andando with this important project.

Happy World Kindness Day! Observed annually on November 13th, the purpose of today is to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness for good which binds us all. #happykindnessday #worldkindnessday
#TFPthoughtfulthursday Did you know that approximately 46.2% of nonprofits commence their year-end fundraising efforts in November, leveraging the season's spirit of generosity to boost donations? Source: DonorBox
#TFPThoughtfulThursday SPECIAL HALLOWEEN EDITION: The National Confectioners Association projects that the U.S. confectionery industry will generate over $6.4 billion in sales in 2024! And while we often think of philanthropy as the giving of money, time, or talent to help others, 94% of Americans give away their candy to family, neighbors, and community friends. So Halloween can be a pretty sweet (pun intended) example of philanthropy in action! We wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween! #happyhalloween
