Proposals sponsored by one of our board members, invited by our organization or from our current grantees will be accepted until September 8, 2025. Our application period for unsolicited applications will open in July, 2026.

We have developed a Grant Qualification Assessment tool to help you determine if your organization would be a good fit for our grants. Please take the Assessment before you request our support. If you pass the Assessment, you will be provided with a link to our grant submission system where you can create or update your organization’s account. We suggest that you do this before our grant submission period begins. |
| Any organization considering a grant application should first submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to us as described below. All organizations, including those that have received funding from us in the past, must submit LOIs if they want to be considered for funding. Letters of Inquiry and Full Proposals should be submitted using the Foundant grant management system. Click here for instructions. |
| We have prepared two videos to help you better understand how to write strong grant requests. You can find them at https://www.tombergphilanthropies.org/how-to-write-a-better-grant-request/ . These videos are only intended as optional guidance on our grant application process. All of the information that organizations need to submit successful applications can be found in the “Our Grants“ section of our website. |

| July 21, 2025, 1:00 PM PDT | Letter of Inquiry submission period begins.The submission period will close for unsolicited proposals when we receive approximately fifty proposals. Last year it closed after two hours.. |
| September 8, 2025, 11:59 PM PDT | Letter of Inquiry deadline for sponsored proposals and returning grantees. |
| November 1, 2025 | Applicants invited to submit full proposals will be notified by this date. |
| December 5, 2025, 11:59 PM PST | Full proposal submission deadline, if invited. |
| March 31, 2026 | Funding notification and receipt of payment, if awarded. |

You will not need an access code to see it at that time. We do not provide the LOI details, questions or specific prompts in advance, and they will only be available directly through this portal once the application period opens. |
