Carlos Gutierrez Hernandez is a first-year Master of Public Policy student at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy. His focus is on program design and evaluation, with a broader interest in quantitative analysis. He has a background in community organizing, tenant and healthcare advocacy, and spent several years supporting low-income communities through housing navigation and Medi-Cal access.
Carlos earned his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University and came to public policy after working with labor unions and nonprofits. In his free time, he enjoys live music shows, cross-border tacos, and listening to historical podcasts.
