The Whidbey Camano Land Trust protects our islands’ natural and rural areas by working with private landowners, community groups and public agencies. Who we are is very simple – we’re the people who’ve been protecting the best of Whidbey and Camano Islands since 1984. During this time, we have partnered with landowners and our island communities to permanently protect 90 properties totaling over 8,700 acres on Whidbey and Camano Islands. We’ve helped expand state parks, county open spaces and protected working farms and forests, shorelines and lakes, and many natural habitats.
Our involvement: Charles Tomberg and Gail Tomberg have financially supported this organization.
Projects We Support
Case Forest Conservation Easement
Harry Case has lovingly managed his 176 acre forest for over 60 years and now wants to protect it permanently for future generations. He is donating a conservation easement on this land. Located near to both Putney Woods and Saratoga Woods, this forest boasts over five million board feet of timber. The conservation easement will protect this forest from being clear-cut and developed into 35 homes.
