Projects We Support
Creating a New Community Pharmacy
Cairn Health aims to establish a community pharmacy to provide uninsured individuals with access to essential prescriptions, particularly for chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, mental health issues, and chronic respiratory problems. Once created, the community pharmacy will ship prescriptions to uninsured individuals, alleviating the financial burden of medications. An important element to this community pharmacy will be access to Dispensary of Hope. The Dispensary of Hope delivers critical medicine – free of cost – to the people who need it the most but cannot afford it working through a community pharmacy that we will be creating.
As an example, for a fee of $12,500, our pharmacy will have access to $1.7 million in prescription medication. Cairn Health will hire a licensed pharmacist and a pharmacy tech, and with enough volume, a driver. Cairn Health will collaborate with doctors’ offices, hospitals, health departments, and other organizations, starting in Central and Western Kansas. Clients will be referred to Cairn Health, and the application process will be digital, requiring only an annual submission of information used to qualify them as meeting the guidelines for assistance.
Support Dates: March, 2025 – Ongoing
